Parent and Infant Units

Find information about the types of support services available for parents in the perinatal period and experiences from two mums who have experienced Parent and Infant Units.

Sometimes after having a baby, or during pregnancy, you might find that your mental health has become too challenging to manage by yourself. Your doctor or psychiatrist may recommend you be admitted into a Parent Infant Mental Health Unit (sometimes known as a Mother-Baby Unit).

Here you will find useful information about the types of support services available for parents in the perinatal period. You will also hear from two mums who have experienced Parent and Infant Units.
