Mental health checklist for New Dads and Non-birth Parents

This checklist asks you questions based on possible symptoms of postnatal anxiety and/or depression. Experiencing these symptoms does not make you a bad parent, but could indicate that you need some support with your mental wellbeing.

This checklist will not give you a diagnosis, only a health professional can provide this. Completing the checklist will help you to better understand what you are experiencing, and assist you to get help if needed.

Complete this checklist to see if what you’re experiencing could be a reason to seek help. The checklist will ask you about changes you have noticed in three different areas: your body and behaviour, your thoughts and feelings and your relationships.

PANDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
