Community education

Volunteers drive PANDA's community education program by running education sessions and sharing their story in new parent groups, community groups and forums.

Parent's group

PANDA is based in Melbourne and we are generously funded by the Victorian Government to deliver perinatal mental health community education sessions.

Education opportunities include:

  • New parent groups
  • Community groups
  • Playgroups
  • Parenting and baby events

PANDA is currently only funded to deliver these sessions in Victoria.

Request a community education session

Most of our community education is run by volunteers. Volunteers are valued members of PANDA with a lived experience. PANDA community education sessions focus on the importance of emotional wellbeing and mental health for expecting and new parents. They are a great way to reduce mental health stigma and encourage help-seeking.

Sessions include information about perinatal mental health, discussion activities on the challenges of parenthood and knowing when support is needed, and information about support options, self-care and wellbeing.
